Curriculum Vitae

Your curriculum vitae is an academic resume. It is a clear, organized list of principal activities and honors in college (indicate responsibilities and leadership); athletic records; extracurricular participation; and involvement in your professions. List in categories.

At the Top

Your full name is your title. List your home address, phone and email address if you have one. Your campus address, phone and email address should be listed right beside of the home information.

Education

List the universities and high schools you have attended. Start with the most recent. List the years of attendance and GPA and special diplomas.

Work Experience

List the employer, dates of work, and responsibilities. Start with the most current.

Community Service

List the service, dates and place. Start with the most current.

Extracurricular Activities

List each activity, years of participation (1998-2001), and offices held. Indicate in the name of the activity what kind of organization it is (honorary, service, etc.). Organize the list by activity, not year. Start with the most current.

Athletic Activities

List athletic activity and years. Start with the most current.

Honors, Awards, Prizes

List the honor and date of award (National Merit Finalist 1999 or National Honor Society 1998-99). Start with the most current. Include dates.

Publications and Presentations

If you have published a paper or poem or made a public presentation of you work, list the title, date and place of publication or presentation.

Professional Goals

In one sentence make a statement about your plans for your career, as you see it now.
