A: Yes. The Air Force offers a Health Professions Scholarship Program to qualified candidates.
The Scholarship
Q: How many years of my medical/dental school will the Air Force pay for?
A: Health professions scholarships are for three- or four-year periods. If you’re awarded one of our Health Professions Scholarships, we’ll pay the bills while you go to school.
Q: What do the scholarships pay for?
A: The scholarship pays full tuition and all required fees. This includes reimbursement for textbooks, small equipment items and supplies needed for study. You’ll also receive a monthly allowance of approximately $1,609 for living expenses.
Qualifications
Q: How do I qualify for an HPSP scholarship?
A: You must be a U.S. citizen, 3.0+ GPA, have a competitive MCAT or DAT score, pass a medical examination. Our scholarship program is very competitive and timing is everything! You need to apply early!
Commitment
Q: What is my commitment to the Air Force for receiving the scholarship?
A: Your pay back is year for year as a physician/dentist.
- 4 year scholarship= 4 year commitment
- 3 year scholarship = 3 year commitment
Q: What will my practice be like?
A: As an Air Force physicians/dentist you’ll step into a busy group practice with a wide-range of cases at the onset. You’ll have a high-tech office and a well trained experienced staff. You will be at the center of responsive health care. Patients will be treated according to their need and not their ability to pay. There’s no problem referring a patient to another specialist as our group practice makes referrals and consultations easy.
